A Project Manager ensures that all departments come together in a timely and efficient manner to complete overall deadlines and goals during implementation. They are responsible for successfully planning, executing, monitoring, and closing on strategic projects and key initiatives.
NEW HEIGHTS BMC’s Jr. Project Management Intern position is designed to expose the college-level candidate to a variety of real-world experiences in product development, launch, and marketing. The emphasis is on applying marketing principles and creativity to launch a new product or start-up business. The candidate will enjoy the challenge of developing a marketing message, creating communications and promotional materials, interacting with our website developers, and positioning our products in the competitive context.
The Jr. Project Management Intern will work closely with the CEO/Sr. Executive Consultant of NEW HEIGHTS BMC, assist with managing the needs of the sales staff, and oversee a variety of project developments. This position can lead to a full-time position in Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Advertising, or Web Content Management depending on candidate’s background, interest, aptitude, and overall performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
The job duties below illustrate the scope of most assignments that may be available to the selected candidate. Specific priorities will be tailored to coordinate with the specific needs of the product management staff and the interests and abilities of the candidate.
▪ Assist in creating customer presentations for assigned products that make a compelling case for potential clients to select NEW HEIGHTS BMC's products and/or services. Apply best practices for presenting technical material to targeted audiences. Work with sales teams (the customary presenters of the material to the customer) to refine the presentations for best effectiveness.
▪ Assist product managers in preparing sales training materials for assigned products. These training materials teach the NEW HEIGHTS BMC sales staff what the product is, why it is important to customers, and how to best sell it.
▪ Assist with creating sample media kits designed to show off the physical parts. These challenging marketing pieces are designed to enable the presenter to illustrate their sales message with the most impact.
▪ Furnish product information to NEW HEIGHTS BMC's catalog and website development teams for assigned products. This will involve learning the product characteristics and function at a level typically required of a marketing professional.
▪ Assist in the creation of a communication system between product management and sales teams. This will facilitate awareness of new product developments, launches, updates and other information sales teams need to be aware of.
▪ Organize and maintain information in a searchable data base. Maintain project trackers and review with the Project Management Team on a monthly basis.
▪ Coordinate the competitive product benchmarking activity for assigned products. Work with web management staff, product managers, and sales team to obtain parts that compete with assigned product lines, assist in defining comparison tests and evaluations to be performed, and track progress towards the goal of understanding how NEW HEIGHTS BMC products and/or services perform against other sales & marketing products.
▪ Assist product managers to integrate product marketing tasks into the product development process. These tasks will be time-phased so that they are performed at the appropriate time and in the correct sequence. The final step is to complete a "Launch Checklist" which signals that a product is ready for release and general promotion.

▪ Manage operational aspects of a project including scope, schedule, and delivery
▪ Provide project coordination and leadership between technical staff and management
▪ Evaluate project risks, develop contingency plans, and respond quickly to change
▪ Establish and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with clients and product teams
▪ Function as liaison between team members and clients to accomplish results and identify alternative solutions
▪ Review deliverables prepared by team to ensure quality and accuracy
▪ Review the status reports of team members
▪ Prepare and participate in engagement reviews and quality assurance processes
▪ Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
▪ Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with practical solutions
▪ Meet challenges with resourcefulness
▪ Proactively disseminate project information to all stakeholders
▪ Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented junior, senior, or graduate student currently working toward a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration and who meets the following necessary qualifications:

▪ Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
▪ Strong Microsoft Office skills
▪ Intellectual horsepower, curiosity, analytical, detail oriented
▪ Strong presentation and communication skills (both oral and written)
▪ Comfort learning about and working across all levels of the organization
▪ Comfort dealing with ambiguity and ability to manage multiple projects
▪ Proven track record of progressive leadership potential through academic, work, and/or community activities
▪ Demonstrated project management capabilities, emphasizing strategic thinking and results-driven implementation
▪ Team first attitude, with exceptional organizational skills and excellent teamwork mentality

SCHEDULE: 6-12 months, depending on amount of hours (Fall/Spring Semester, with the possibility of extending to Summer) (Hours are flexible and can be arranged according to a student’s academic/work schedule)
REMUNERATION:
Paid Internship with advancement opportunities. Academic credit also available.
Huge growth potential, with high probability of a full-time or part-time position opportunity upon internship completion.
Flexible schedule of 3-5 days/week.
