We are a high caliber business marketing & consulting firm looking for bright and creative interns to assist our Creative Designer. The position will offer the right candidates invaluable art/design experience at an innovative and rapidly growing business marketing consultancy. We have a small staff and therefore will rely on our interns to perform a variety of tasks relating to the pre-production, project management, creative development, and event planning required for the upcoming 2018 launch of our magazine (directory).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
This internship will give the inspiring Graphic Designers that are selected, the opportunity to learn and be mentored in their field.
The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Creative Designer with a number of projects, which may include (but are not limited to):
▪ Responsible for data acquisition, data processing, data extraction and data entry
▪ Type setting
▪ Logo design
▪ Producing sales brochures
▪ Media kit creation assistance
▪ Letterhead design
▪ Participating in brainstorming concepts (for upcoming projects & marketing strategies)
▪ eNewsletter design
▪ Updating existing collateral material
▪ Image scanning, maintaining art files, and basic design duties (relative to experience)
▪ Any other creative tasks that may arise
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Junior or Senior undergraduate or graduate student (sophomores considered if appropriate criteria is met)
▪ Major or minor in Graphic Design or Graphic Communications
▪ Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is required.
▪ Knowledge of Dreamweaver is preferred, but not mandatory
▪ Must have access to the Adobe Create Suite and Microsoft Office
▪ Exceptional oral communication skills
▪ Strong problem-solving skills
▪ Ability to coordinate multiple deadline-driven tasks
▪ Preferred candidates to have some knowledge of, or an interest in business
▪ Respect and maintain the confidentiality and integrity of NEW HEIGHTS BMC
▪ Complies with and adheres to all of NEW HEIGHTS BMC policies and procedures
SCHEDULE: 6-12 months, depending on amount of hours (Fall/Spring Semester, with the possibility of extending to Summer) (Hours are flexible and can be arranged according to a student’s academic/work schedule)
REMUNERATION:
Paid Internship with advancement opportunities. Academic credit also available.
Possible advancement opportunities. Flexible schedule of 3-5 days/week.
