Under general supervision, the Creative Services Intern will be given real assignments with an emphasis on projects, rather than clerical tasks. Additionally, extraordinarily talented, and qualified individuals eager to apply their skills will be assisting with special projects, gaining valuable developmental experience, as well as cementing potential job opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
Student interns participating in this internship may have the opportunity to be involved in the following activities:
• Editing (topicals), IDs and other on-air/web materials
• Shooting/assisting production of community affairs programming (both in studio and out in the field)
• Assisting in Sales shoots (production assistant, pre-production, talent releases, etc. as well as casting call assistance)
• Shooting, writing, editing web diaries of events
• Organizing/updating film and music/sfx libraries (including logs for existing tapes with no current content identification)
• Organizing syndicated programming tapes/topical feed tapes back in storage area
• Web posting updates (with guidance & supervision from Writer/Producer)
• Outside events staffing/booth set-up (especially for spring/summer interns)
• Organizing and maintenance of the prize closet
• Other duties as they arise. Some weekend work may be scheduled, particularly during Spring/Summer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to meet the minimum time commitment for the internship program (minimum of 15-20 hours per week)
• Must be computer literate, and have experience using MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier is a plus, but not required.
• Previous experience operating a studio camera and/or videography experience is a plus.
• A cover letter must be submitted with the resume to be considered for an internship.
• Currently attending an accredited college and have achieved junior or senior status
• Respect and maintain the confidentiality and integrity of NEW HEIGHTS BMC
• Complies with and adheres to all of NEW HEIGHTS BMC policies and procedures
SCHEDULE: 6-12 months, depending on amount of hours (Fall/Spring Semester, with the possibility of extending to Summer)
(Hours are flexible and can be arranged according to a student’s academic/work schedule)
REMUNERATION: Paid Internship. Academic credit also available.
