NEW HEIGHTS BMC MEDIA guides brands, businesses, agencies and start-ups through the concept and development of user-friendly advertising & marketing products, promotions, and strategies that highlight the uniqueness of each brand’s proposition.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNITY RELATIONS SPECIALIST
The Business Development & Community Relations Specialist cultivates and maintains a very visible presence throughout the entire business community. Responsibilities include developing new business partnering prospects, establishing hotel advertising clients, coordinating sales promotions, and administering product marketing & promotions at conventions, business expos, festivals, college & university career days, and various other community events.
The position is also responsible for identifying upcoming events and other opportunities to market and promote advertising products in order to maximize the organizations’ sales revenue potential, as well as assist with the implementation of community related content such as e-blasts, social network promotions, live events, bulletin boards, chat rooms, and text blasts. Assist in researching, evaluating, and recommending enhancements to the market positioning of the organization's products or services.
The Business Development & Community Relations Specialist assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new customers or potential customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. Works with marketing, sales, and product development teams to implement business development initiatives.
The Business Development & Community Relations Specialist identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with partners, establishes and develops new business partnering prospects, uncovers co-branding and/or joint-promotion partnering opportunities, identifies potential corporate sponsors, uncovers corporate sponsorship opportunities, and develops and manages multiple business partnering accounts. This is an incentive eligible position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
The initial staff is expected to assume multiple roles while undertaking multiple responsibilities. Your duties may include:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a very visible business and community presence.
- Uncovering potential business-to-business (B2B) partnering opportunities.
- Identifying potential corporate sponsors and/or uncovering corporate sponsorship opportunities.
- Developing and managing business partnering accounts.
- Assisting with the implementation of community related content for the organization.
- Collecting email addresses at live events for building and managing company’s email database.
- Identifying and helping to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers.
- Working with marketing, sales, and product development teams to implement business development initiatives.
- Assist with researching, evaluating, and recommending enhancements to the market positioning of products or services.
- Performing a variety of product promotional tasks.
- Presenting communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products.
- Conducting market or public opinion research to assess program outcomes.
- Suggesting promotional campaign ideas in various types of media.
- Counseling top management on effective community strategies.
- Attending various assigned business meetings and events, exemplifying professionalism at all times.
