NEW HEIGHTS BMC MEDIA guides brands, businesses, agencies and start-ups through the concept and development of user-friendly advertising & marketing products, promotions, and strategies that highlight the uniqueness of each brand’s proposition.

BACK-END WEB DESIGN & DIGITAL FUNCTIONS


The Back-End Web Designer position is expected to play an active hands-on role in all key projects and will require a keen eye for web design, while working with our team to solve problems and build innovative web and digital solutions, as well as working hand- in-hand with the Cyber Security officer(s) to form our IT Department (Tech Support Team).

This position assists with implementing research and development findings for our entire internal communications, digital functions, and external web development and quality control processes. The goal of this role is to ensure the company operates with optimal online web and digital solutions through data analysis. Individuals in this role are expected to multitask and handle a variety of responsibilities including managing real-time updates and creating ways to effectively communicating all changes. IT technical support monitors and maintain the company’s computer systems and networks. This includes installing and configuring systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving all technical and application problems.

The Back-End Web Designer will be expected to collaborate with our graphic artists, programmers, and writers to improve the website’s overall interface and user experience, as well as carry the entire web design project from concept to completion, while adhering to the brand standards.

The Back-End Web Designer will contribute to a wide range of projects and will participate in all stages of web and digital design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and management. S/he will help conceptualize and may aid in overseeing the organization’s website content, as well as format and design electronic newsletters for subscribing members. S/he will also work closely with the Web Content Manager and NEW HEIGHTS BMC sales staff on a variety of digital projects. S/he must have a sensible approach to design and development while keeping in mind cross browser support. This position helps to extend the resources of NEW HEIGHTS BMC to better assist and meet the needs of our members and the clients that we serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

Most projects will involve customizing websites and landing pages, often incorporating video and/or audio elements. Candidates must have a range of creativity, perspective and flexibility in design concepts and deliverables, from entertainment/interactive to corporate communications/brand identity. Attention to detail and the ability to work as a team member are also essential.

The initial staff is expected to assume multiple roles while undertaking multiple responsibilities. Your duties may include:


  • Uncovering emerging technologies and latest web & digital trends and guidelines
  • Enhancing The RTC Directory website by adding and improving design and interactive features
  • Creating and laying out the visual aesthetics and page elements of the website to optimize visual appeal.
  • Creating a user experience (UX) that makes the site easier to navigate; helping users find what they’re looking for.
  • The design and layout of electronic materials for all future programs and events.
  • Maintaining The RTC Directory’s digital branding so it remains consistent
  • Creating banners and landing pages to drive sales/leads
  • Using responsive design to enhance mobile access
  • Ensuring the coding standards are met, optimizing the website’s architectures for navigability and accessibility
  • Ensuring the website and databases are being backed up
  • Developing elements in design strategy and visual concepts for intranet (internal) and internet communications
  • Providing web design/usability principle documentations
  • Collecting and follow up on documentation for web and digital standards
  • Assisting with data acquisition, data processing, and data extraction
  • Assisting in managing geospatial databases, map production, and development of report graphics
  • Weaving rich media techniques into creative solutions
  • Assisting with web narratives, function, and instructions for consumer utilization
  • Following a quality control focused workflow
  • Supporting the enforcement of web and digital testing procedures
  • Working to test, critique, communicate and repair site issues within I.T.
  • Communicating with Sales, Marketing, and Graphic Design teams on web capabilities
  • Designing and developing art and graphic solutions to support web-based projects
  • Collaborating on projects with our marketing department, production staff, and content writers
  • Supporting the design, development, and digital solutions project teams across the organization
  • Working closely with the NHBMC staff to develop web content, electronic newsletters, and social media platforms
  • Publishing approved content on NHBMC various social media platforms
  • Publishing and distributing electronic newsletters using Constant Contact
  • Production of some copywriting and editing of website and newsletter content
  • Maintenance and updating the back-end of NHBMC public website; including SEO & Homepage Takeover Management
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy, detail, and productivity in all aspects of work
