POSITION SUMMARY:
NEW HEIGHTS BMC MEDIA guides brands, businesses, agencies and start-ups through the concept and development of user-friendly advertising & marketing products, promotions, and strategies that highlight the uniqueness of each brand’s proposition.
CONTENT WRITER
The Content Writer will be responsible for using the written word to share information about our company, and our client’s products, services, or industry. Their duties will include preparing document outlines, updating content based on client edit requests and proofreading their work for tone, style, clarity, grammar, and formatting. The Content Writer will also be responsible for style and format consistency across all company projects and communicating with other team members to create the best content possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
▪ Completing writing projects, meeting deadlines, and following content requirements of style and project specifications
▪ Revising content whenever customers or clients request changes
▪ Helping create style guides or suggesting changes to ensure content is consistent and clear
▪ Working with customers to define their content needs
▪ Conducting research on any given topic
▪ Optimizing articles for SEO and accessibility
▪ Writing engaging content for blogs, ebooks, case studies, video scripts, infographics, and other assets
▪ Identifying gaps in content and recommending new topics
▪ Editing content to ensure voice, grammar and style is on point
▪ Creating and scheduling posts for multiple social media channels
▪ Staying up to date on industry trends to support content development
▪ Distilling complex concepts and language into content that is easily understood
▪ Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, branding and style
▪ Managing and completing work on time for multiple content writing projects
▪ Working with content strategists to build editorial calendars
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Bachelor’s degree
▪ One-three years of experience
▪ Understanding grammar rules and how to construct clear sentences
▪ Being mindful of things like flow, readability, and sentence variety
▪ Computer literacy, as content writers use computers to create projects and to communicate with their team
▪ An understanding of search engine optimization best practices
▪ The ability to cooperate with other writers and editors to complete projects
▪ The ability to give feedback on writing projects
